Candice Millard returns to Columbia with her latest blockbuster!
If you came to Unbound last year, you may have been lucky enough to hear Candice Millard speak about her two bestselling histories, The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey, and Destiny of the Republic: A Tale of Madness, Medicine, and the Murder of a President. It was a fascinating presentation and one of the highlights of the festival.
Yesterday's New York Times Book Review contained the happy news that Candice's dazzling new book, Hero of the Empire: The Boer War, a Daring Escape and the Making of Winston Churchill, has zoomed straight into the bestseller list, making its debut at number five.
We're delighted to announce that Candice has agreed to return to Unbound next April to talk about her new book as part of our War and Empire panel, along with Ishmael Behr and others.
