Idra Novey is coming to Unbound!
One of our favorite novels from 2019 was the astonishing Those Who Knew, by Idra Novey. The novel was a finalist for the 2019 Clark Fiction Prize and chosen as a best book of the year by NPR, Esquire, Oprah, Kirkus Reviews, Lithub, the BBC, and many, many more. It’s a taut, prescient novel of the #MeToo era, about the crimes that a powerful politician thinks he can get away with. It’s a riveting exploration of the cost of staying silent, and the mixed rewards of speaking up. We’re delighted to announce that Idra will be coming to Unbound in April to talk about her book.
Idra’s first novel, Ways to Disappear, received the 2016 Sami Rohr Prize, the Brooklyn Public Library Prize, and was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for First Fiction. Her work has been translated into ten languages and she's translated numerous authors from Spanish and Portuguese, most recently Clarice Lispector. She teaches fiction in the Creative Writing Program at Princeton University.
