From Kansas to Missouri… Poet Danny Caine is coming to Unbound!

“People who say they don't like poetry need an order of Danny Caine and a side of fries.” So says Daniel A. Hoyt, and we heartily concur. “[He] is the poet laureate of the fast-food joint, of the diner, of the almost-special occasion, of visits to Waffle House at 2 a.m.” Danny’s poetry - which Hanif Abdurraqib calls “stunning” - addresses fatherhood, masculinity, fast-food establishments, and the joys of living in the Midwest. It’s touching, bracing, funny, beautiful, and always perfectly pitched. We can’t wait to welcome Danny to Unbound!

Danny Caine is the author of the poetry collections Continental BreakfastEl Dorado Freddy'sFlavortown, and Picture Window, as well as the book How to Resist Amazon and Why. His poetry has appeared in The SlowdownDIAGRAMHAD, and Barrelhouse, and his prose has appeared in Literary Hub and Publishers Weekly. In 2019, he received the Midwest Independent Bookstore Association Midwest Bookseller of the Year award. He's a co-owner of the Raven Book Store, Publishers Weekly's 2022 bookstore of the year.
