It’s Time for CoMoGives!
Today, November 28, is Giving Tuesday, which marks the kick-off of this year's CoMoGives campaign, the annual bonanza of online charitable giving to benefit nonprofits throughout mid-Missouri.
Unbound has participated in CoMoGives since we began. We don't have the resources to put on fundraising events (fun thought that would be) and so CoMoGives has always been absolutely crucial to our existence. As you probably know, it's a fundamental principle of Unbound that the festival is completely free for the whole community to attend. But - as you might imagine - all those events, panels, performances, workshops, and readings cost a fair bit to put on. Without revenue from ticket sales, most of our operating revenue comes from charitable donations from people like you. That's why CoMoGives is a such huge event for us. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000.
So please, please consider making a donation in support of Unbound before midnight on December 31. It's very quick and easy: all it takes is five minutes, an internet connection, and a credit card. (Click here for the link.) And because we're 100% volunteer-run, every dollar you give goes directly to bringing amazing writers to Columbia.
Throughout December we'll be lighting up our social media channels with news, photos, author announcements, and the like, so watch out for those. In particular, we'll be announcing next year's keynote author as soon as we hit $7,500 in donations!
