Please Donate to Unbound During CoMoGives!
Over the past four years Unbound has brought hundreds of acclaimed authors and poets to Columbia and created a world-class literary festival that we hope our community can be proud of.
In that time, we have never charged a cent for anyone to attend an Unbound event. That's because we believe that books and reading should be for everyone.
This has been a crucial founding principle of the festival since we first began, but it is not without its challenges. Without the revenue from ticket sales, we are dependent on the support of donors like you to help us meet the expenses of the festival.
So may we ask a favor?
It is December 1, which means it's the first day of CoMoGives, the month-long online charitable giving campaign organized by the Community Foundation of Central Missouri. This has become Unbound's most important fundraising event of the year, and - this year more than ever - we are dependent on your support if we are to continue this labor of literary love. CoMoGives is a wonderfully simple and easy way for people to give online to their favorite local charities. All you need is a credit card, an internet connection, and a couple of minutes.
So if you have attended an Unbound event in the past four years, or if you're planning to come next April, or if you just think that books are awesome, would you please visit our giving page at CoMoGives and make a donation? We would be so grateful. Unbound is run entirely by volunteers, which means that every dollar we receive goes directly to meeting the expenses of bringing all those wonderful authors into town.
Thank you so much. We really - and literally - could not do this without you.
